But don’t worry, there are many excellent vegetarian restaurants in Yangon. And to make things easier, here we would like to introduce some of the Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Yangon!
Green Gallery
Coming first on this list is a wonderful world of salads and Thai dishes, we gladly present: Green Gallery, located at downtown of Yangon, 52nd street.
As a restaurant specialized in salads and Thai dishes, Green Gallery is a perfect place for vegetarians, notably the savory coconut soup, or delicious and fresh vegetable spring rolls. Some people may concern about the food quality, then no worry, the restaurant guarantees the fresh ingredients which always got from every morning. The prices are affordable and relatively cheap, there are no dish’s price surpasses 3000 kyat.
Coming into Green Gallery, what you will see is a simple, yet appropriate design with furnitures (chairs, tables,…) and even counters are made from salvaged wood.
Wai Wai’s Noodle Place
Second on this list is the famous Wai Wai’s Noodle Place, located at the Pearl Street.
The restaurant gives an impressive and amazing feeling. The foods offered in Wai Wai’s Noodle Place are fantastic to both normal and vegetarian customers, typically the Shan Noodle Soup, Shan Noodle Salad. The prices will be surprisingly cheap, compared to what we may expect from its appearance (the total price also includes beverage). Attentive waiters is also a great contribute to the overall pleasant dinner in Wai Wai’s Noodle Place, definitely a place worth to come and enjoy.
999 Shan Noodle House
Besides Wai Wai’s Noodle Place, we also have another excellent noodle restaurant: 999 Shan Noodle House.
999 Shan Noodle House first opened in 1978, and since then, they serve variety of noodles and each one tastes really different from the others. One of the recommendable dishes is the Shan Noodle Salad, which is also the most popular one; other could be Shan Tofu Salad filled with creamy, cold sliced chickpea tofu; and many other dishes for you to try out for yourselves.
From many visitors’ comments, 999 Shan Noodle House provides pretty good service with friendly waiters. The design style of the restaurant is also interesting, as if it brings us to the Shan’s countryside.
Ingyin Restaurant
Ingyin Restaurant is quite an experience for those who really into dosas and curries. Located at 232 Anawrahta Road, Ingyin Restaurant has a simple, yet spacious design, efficiently gives visitors the feeling of a nice Indian restaurant.
Vegetarian coming to Ingyin can expect fresh and delicious vegetable dosas, such as the crispy paper-thin vegetable dosas with the inside filled with bean cauliflower, sprouts, and carrots, enriched with turmeric. Though most travelers prefer Ingyin for its dosas, you can also try South Indian cuisine.
Nang Htike
Located at Bogyoke Aung San Street, Nang Htike restaurant, again, is a nice choice for those who enjoy vegetarian noodles, and Burmese cuisine.
For the right price, what we have in Nang Htike is a nice meal with creamy tofu, delicious shan noodles, and fresh salads, and more… Notably here is where you can try the incredible national dish of Burmese cuisine: Lahpet Thoke (or Green Tea Salad/Tea Leaf Salad).
Parami Pizza
Til now we have seen so many noodle and salad dishes so now is probable the time for something new, something more ‘Western’ abit. In that case, let’s come to Parami Pizza, located at Mayangone (though it seems they already have new branch restaurants by now).
What Parami Pizza offers us is, of course, savory pizzas that we all love; and all also Italian dishes. All are made from imported Italian ingredients like mushrooms, flours, and tomato sauces. In addition, you can always order delicious coffees and other Italian drinks.
Indian Tadka
This fantastic Indian restaurant was first opened in 2014 and until now it has high reputation and achivements, namely the Best Indian Restaurant 2016 and Gold Medal International Star Awards for Quality.
Hard to say the price range in Indian Tadka is always affordable since it’s from 2000 kyat to 20.000 kyat, but if you have enough budget, it will be a good experience. The vegetarian menu are quite varies, from Vegetable Masala, Vegetable Coconut Kurma, to Mattar Mushroom. Also you can try their tasty drinks, such as the Indian Tea.

New Delhi: Popular for its Muslim-Indian cuisine, some tasty vegetarian dishes we can choose from like puris (puffy breads), banana-leaf thalis, idli (rice ball), and variety of dosai.
