This is a great chance to go outside Yangon for a day trip exploring the peaceful town of Twante, well known for the ceramic industry and fish farming of Yangon region! Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere here and get a glimpse of the local life. The people are always willing to help you in making a ceramic bowl. So, don’t hesitate to try your hand at this interesting experience.
Yangon – Twante –Yangon
Our guide and driver will pick-up you at your hotel in Yangon to start the day trip to Twante, 25km to the southwest of Yangon.
We will take time to visit the Shwesandaw Pagoda before moving to the Oh Bo ceramic quarter where practiced making ceramic in more than a century.
You will have chance to see the local artisan making the potteries in their traditional way. How about making a ceramic bowl and painting it by yourself? Do not be afraid, the local artisans are always happy to guide you how to make it.
After that, you can stroll around to meet the local people and explore local market to see the local trading, or discover the local cottage industries of bamboo.
Finally, we will visit Paung Daw Gyoke Pagoda and then drive back to your hotel in Yangon to conclude the day.
